Leadership Through Your Human Design: Expanding Your Influence as a Woman In Business

Leadership is the biggest theme in conversations I’m having with women in business right now. You may recognise yourself in this. You’ve already built something solid. You have experience, credibility and a reputation that you’ve earned through years of work. You know how to lead and you know how to deliver.

And yet something feels different now. You feel a pull into a deeper level of leadership. You know there is more for you. You can sense that your next level is approaching and you also know you cannot lead the way you used to. Your body is asking for a new way. You want space. You want clarity. You want leadership that feels aligned with your energy instead of leadership that drains you.

Women who enter my world often arrive at this same point. Their success is established but they’ve spent decades putting other people first. And then one day they feel the shift. The old rooms no longer feel supportive and the old strategies feel heavy and exhausting.

This is where Human Design becomes important because it shows you the deeper truth of how your energy works and why your leadership has always carried a particular rhythm. It gives you language for the things you felt your entire life but could never explain.

If you are new to Human Design you can look up your chart on my website.

This blog is written for you if you feel ready to lead differently. You feel the call to rise and you want a way of leading that feels honest, aligned and supportive for the woman you are today.

Traditional Leadership Never Supported Many Women

Most leadership models were created in environments that rewarded speed and urgency. You may have been trained to believe that leadership equals quick action and being available at all hours.

Many of us learned this early in our careers. We shaped our entire leadership identity inside structures that were frantic and masculine. We adapted because we had to. We survived because the environment demanded it. But our bodies were never designed to live in constant flight or flight.

I know this directly. I spent years in aviation managing crisis. When something happened you had no room for reflection. You had to respond immediately. You had to give direction while people were looking straight at you. I knew how to lead in that environment. I produced results and I earned promotions. I held responsibility for teams and situations that required absolute clarity.

But there was always something inside me that resisted that pace. I didn’t understand why but It felt like a private battle in my own nervous system. I carried the expectation of leadership but I paid for it emotionally and physically, being rushed into A&E on many occasions with a racing heart beat of 220.

When I discovered my Human Design I felt seen. I’m a Projector with emotional authority. My clarity does not arrive through speed. It arrives through emotional processing. My decisions need time so that my insight can form. That insight is my leadership. The urgency I learned in corporate pushed against the exact place where my wisdom comes from.

You may have your own version of this story. You pushed because you had to. You delivered because people needed you to. And your body carried the weight of it because the environment was not supporting you.

Human Design helps you see this clearly. The pressure was not a flaw in your leadership, it was your energy speaking to you long before you had the language to understand it.

Women Are Finally Speaking Honestly About Their Leadership

Women who enter my world do not hide. They tell the truth about what’s happening inside them. They’re not new to leadership, in fact, many of them have decades of leadership behind them. They are respected and well established.

Yet when they step into a new level of visibility, the internal fears still arise.

Women tell me things like:

“I worry people will judge me when I speak.”
“I freeze when the attention is on me.”
“I feel something tighten inside me when I try to be visible.”
“I want to lead at a higher level but something in me hesitates.”
“I am scared of making a mistake.”
“I feel like I need to be more polished before I show up.”

These fears run deep. They come from childhood messages and school experiences. They come from early workplaces where women were silenced or mocked or overlooked. They come from years of social conditioning that told women to sit quietly and stay agreeable.

They also come from wounds created between women. Many women carry the memory of being judged, criticised or excluded by other women who were also carrying their own wounds. These experiences stay in the body. When you walk into a room, you take all of that history with you.

And when you add the pressure of social media and the constant comparison it creates, the fear becomes even louder. Women begin believing they need to lead like someone else. They doubt their own leadership because they see a curated version of somebody else's. They push themselves into strategies that do not match their energy and then wonder why they’re not getting results.

This is why so many women hesitate when they feel the desire for more. The desire is strong, the potential is strong but the fear is also strong. Your body remembers the places where leadership cost you something.

Leadership begins with self awareness. You need to understand what has shaped you before you can step into a higher version of yourself.

Human Design Helps Women Lead With Clarity

Human Design gives you a way to understand your leadership without judgement. It shows you the rhythm of your energy, how your voice works and it helps you recognise the parts of you that were always trying to lead in a different way.

One of my clients saw this very clearly. She’s a respected leader who works with senior executives and board members. She is paid significant fees for her work and she carries a strong presence. When she discovered she was a Projector she reviewed her entire career through that lens.

She saw that every major success in her life happened when she was invited in. Every breakthrough moment came from recognition. She was at her best when people asked for her guidance. She was never at her strongest when she had to fight her way into a room.

She shared a story about a board presentation where she delivered her expertise with the same quality she brings everywhere but it wasn’t well received and the room shut her down. She later learned that none of the board members had invited her. She had been brought in by an investor. The people in the room did’t recognise her or value her.

She internalised it as a failure and felt humiliated. When she understood her design she finally understood the real issue. Her leadership was strong but the room was wrong. And as a Human Design Projector, she hadn’t been invited in.

Human Design helps you stop blaming yourself and start seeing the truth of what actually shaped your experiences.

Leadership Needs Diverse Women Now

When I prepared Michelle Obama’s Human Design reading, one quote stayed with me. It came back to me while researching for this leadership workshop. She said:

“I have probably sat at every powerful table there is and I can say that it is not all that. I want people to stop wasting time asking themselves if they belong at the table and spend more time making sure those seats become more diverse.”

This is an important point, Leadership doesn’t just need more women it needs more diverse women. Different cultures, different backgrounds, different ages and different lived experiences.

Women carry emotional intelligence, strategic clarity and intuitive leadership that patriarchy has ignored for generations. Women are powerful leaders, they are perceptive and can hold nuance in ways that create real change.

Many women tell me they’re tired of trying to climb leadership ladders inside racist and misogynistic rooms.

Women are tired of trying to be heard and being told to sit quietly. They’re tired of shrinking themselves and trying to prove their worth to people who do not value them.

We need to create our own tables.

We need to value ourselves and one another.

We need to stop the patterns of competition, projection and judgement that have kept women small. If we want change, we need to take responsibility for the way we show up with one another.

This is why environments and community matters and why Human Design includes environment as part of your energetic wellbeing.

My own environment is kitchens. I thrive in spaces with diversity, conversation and movement. My leadership grows in rooms where women share honestly and respect one another. This is one of the reasons I created the Expansion Circle. Women rise faster in rooms that are supportive, inclusive and conscious.

How You Step Into Your Next Level Of Leadership

Know Your Energy

Leadership becomes clearer when you understand how your design works. You stop pushing yourself into roles that drain you and you start making decisions that feel aligned. You follow the rhythm of your authority and your leadership begins to feel natural.

Speak From Lived Experience

Your stories carry power and your challenges carry wisdom. Your experiences have shaped your leadership more than any strategy ever will. When you speak honestly and openly about the path you walked, people feel you. Your leadership lands because it comes from authenticity and vulnerability.

Choose Rooms That Support You

Leadership grows in the right environment. You need rooms where women are mature, conscious and supportive. You need rooms where diversity is valued. You need rooms where women hold one another up instead of competing or criticising. These rooms shape your confidence, your clarity and your ability to lead at a higher level.

Leadership through Human Design is grounded and practical as well as mystical. It’s the way you honour your energy while holding space for your clients and your community.

Women who lead through alignment create impact because they trust themselves. They know who they are, they understand how their energy works and they understand what their leadership looks like.

Step Into The Expansion Circle

If you can feel that your leadership is calling you forward, the Expansion Circle is a room built for this next stage. It is a private space for women who want deeper growth, stronger awareness and leadership that aligns with their energy.
