The Five Human Design Types and What They Mean for Your Business
One of the most powerful starting points in Human Design is understanding your type. There are five types, each with a completely different strategy for how you are designed to attract opportunities, make decisions and use your energy sustainably in business.
Projectors make up around 20% of the population and are the natural guides and strategists. As a Projector in business, your gift is your ability to see the potential in others and in systems before anyone else can. You're not here to work harder than everyone else, you're here to work smarter and to be recognised for your wisdom. Your strategy is to wait for the invitation before you share your insights, and when the right invitation comes, your impact is extraordinary. Trying to initiate and push your way to success will leave you burnt out and bitter. Success for a Projector comes through visibility, positioning and being in rooms where the right people can recognise what you bring.
Generators are the most common type, making up around 37% of the population. You have a powerful, sustainable energy that others are literally drawn to when you're doing work that lights you up. Your strategy is to wait to respond, meaning you work best when you're responding to things that arrive in your reality rather than forcing yourself to initiate. When a Generator is doing aligned work, their energy is magnetic, and their momentum is unstoppable. When they're doing work that doesn't excite them, the energy flatlines and the business stalls.
Manifesting Generators make up around 33% of the population and share the Generator's powerful sacral energy, but with an additional capacity to initiate and move quickly. You're multi-passionate, fast moving and designed to do things your own way rather than following someone else's linear path. Your strategy is also to wait to respond, but once you feel the energy for something, you can move with incredible speed. Trying to slow yourself down to someone else's timeline is one of the most common sources of frustration for Manifesting Generators in business.
Manifestors make up around 9% of the population and are the only type truly designed to initiate. You have a powerful, impactful aura that commands attention and your strategy is to inform the people around you before you act. When a Manifestor does this, the impact and momentum they create is extraordinary. When they don't, they find themselves meeting resistance where there could have been flow.
Reflectors are the rarest type at around 1% of the population. You are deeply attuned to your environment and the people around you, reflecting back the health and energy of your community. Your strategy is to wait a full lunar cycle before making major decisions, taking in information from multiple sources before coming to clarity. A Reflector in the right environment absolutely flourishes. In the wrong one, they absorb the energy of everyone around them and lose themselves completely.

For others, it comes through being recognised and invited.
