Why are so many people suffering from burnout in corporate?

Whenever I ask my clients, friends and family why they don’t take more time away from their desk, work and busy lives the answer is normally “I’m too busy” or “I have too many things to do”.

I get it. I used to have a busy corporate job and constantly felt overwhelmed. I never took a lunch break and would often work at the weekends.

But at what cost? It took me 3 trips to the emergency room with a racing heartbeat of 210 and heart surgery to realise that enough was enough and I just couldn’t live like that anymore.
