Here’s How to Create Happier Mondays

Here’s How to Create Happier Mondays

I’m writing this blog on Blue Monday, which is apparently the most depressing day of the year.

The reasoning behind this soul sucker of a day is that Christmas is over, we’ve spent all our money during the festive period and we’re in debt. We’ve failed to keep our new year’s resolutions and it’s colder and darker (in some places in the world) so low vitamin D levels are adding to the yucky mix.

Does this sound familiar? Did you find it difficult to get up for work today?

If you were feeling less than perky this morning I can understand why, although it may not necessarily be linked to Blue Monday because Blue Monday doesn’t actually exist.

Blue Monday was a very clever marketing tool dreamt up by a company in the UK called Sky Travel, to encourage people to leave the drizzly, grey British weather and take a sunny break to warmer climates in January.

So it’s a big fat lie…….or is it?

I mean, think back again to this morning. Were you bouncing out of bed, full of gratitude and excited about the day ahead?

Or did you hit the snooze button, close your eyes tight and wish that this was a nightmare and it was still Sunday?

Well my mission in life is for you to feel like the first option…EVERY…SINGLE…DAY.

So if you felt less than enthusiastic getting out of bed today and your early morning commute was once again, the journey from hell, then I have a question for you.

How long are you going to live your life like this?

Seriously, it’s 2019. You’ve probably hated your job for a number of years but still you go on.

What’s it going to take for you to change your life and start doing something that you LOVE?

It took me ten years. Ten years of waking up tired, sitting in rush hour traffic, enduring energy sucking and pointless back to back meetings, getting home after dark and falling into bed.

It took a serious heart condition for me to finally wake up and make the decision to leave corporate. What’s it going to take for you to leave your soul sucking job and do something that you love?

The whole point of me writing these blogs every week is to help you wake up to a better life.

To inspire you to make a change.

To show you a different way.

But I can’t MAKE you do it. Nobody can make you do it. It’s got to be your decision. And I know that it’s scary. I know that it seems easier and safer to stick to what you’re doing now.

But at what cost? We only have a short time on this planet. Don’t you think it’s a waste of a life if you’re doing something that makes you unhappy? That you’re not waking up every morning with a smile of your face, excited for the day ahead?

Because that’s how life should be.

It’s time to stop making excuses and time to start taking steps towards a happier, more purposeful and free life. Honestly, believe me, it’s not as scary or difficult as you think.

It just takes some small steps. Because small steps lead to big change.

So here are some small steps that you can take right now:

  1. Take your journal, a workbook or even a couple of sheets of paper.

  2. On the first page, at the top write “I am living a purposeful, joyful and free life and this is the life I’m creating” Underline the words.

  3. Underneath these words I want you to write out your perfect day, in the present tense. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion just a normal day.

What time do you wake up?
    Where do you wake up?
    How do you feel?
What do you eat for breakfast?
    Who are you with?
    What are you wearing?
Continue to write about the whole day, adding as much detail as possible.

  4. Now every morning, just as you get up, find a warm, quiet place and spend 5 minutes visualising the day you’ve written about. Bring it to life. The colours, the sounds, the smells and the tastes. Feel like it’s actually happening right now. Bring emotion into your visualisation. Feel how you will feel when you’re living that day. Be thankful for all the wonderful things that are coming your way.

  5. Decide that you’re going to take action. Write down 3 small steps that you can take THIS WEEK towards your goal. And then DO IT.

There may be many excuses popping up in your head at this very moment.

I don’t have time

This won’t work

I hate writing

I don’t have a good imagination

I’ll do it next week

That’s your brain making excuses because change is uncomfortable and it wants you to stay in your safe place.

But let’s face it…….your safe place is a bit shit isn’t it?

So do the work, do it today and then address the questions that are coming up. If your question is “What do I do next?” then I’m here to help.

To celebrate ‘Fake Blue Monday’ but more importantly, to celebrate your new life, I’m going to make things really easy peasy for you.

This week I’ve cleared my diary as much as I can on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and I’ve created 10 coaching spots.

And you can book one here for just £69 (That’s $79).

In the session I’ll help you get clear on your purpose and create a plan for next steps. Let’s call this your ‘corporate escape plan’ or ‘build a successful business plan’ or ‘make more money plan’. Whatever you want to call it.

The main thing here is that I’m going to help you get shit done. In a beautifully aligned and inspired way.

I don’t charge an hourly fee, my private clients pay me monthly. But if I was going to break it down then this is a £389 coaching session and you’re paying just £69/$79.

So if you want to get really clear on your next steps then this is your opportunity to say yes to your dreams.

If you’ve ever wanted to work with me but you’ve told yourself you can’t afford it or you don’t have time then I’m taking all your excuses away from you so you can say yes to yourself and your future.

I hardly ever discount my prices. I didn’t even do a Black Monday sale.

This is a once in a blue moon (or Blue Monday) offer. And there are just ten spots available.

So this is your choice. Do you choose to say yes to a more purposeful free life this year? (I hope you do because I can’t wait to meet you)

Book your session here.
