Jo Elvin Biography

Jo Elvin is Editor-in-Chief of GLAMOUR magazine and, both launched in March 2001. Glamour is the UK’s biggest selling, award-winning print title and also the biggest online magazine brand, with over 2.7 million monthly unique users. She has won many awards, including Consumer Magazine ofthe Year and five Editor of the Year Awards from the BSME, including the coveted Editor’s Editor Award.

Of course, Glamour is so much more than a magazine and Jo has been instrumental in extending the brand’s reach and fame. She launched the Glamoru Women of the Year Awards in 2004, the annual event that is recognised as one of the UK’s most biggest celebrity red carpet events. In 2016, she has launched the Glamour Beauty Festival – a two-day London event for the Glamour audience to enjoy the magazine ‘coming to life’ in London’s Saatchi Gallery. She has also recently launchedand hosts the weekly Glamour podcast, Hey It’s OK, which has already broken into the itunes top 50 charts.

Jo is also a regular face on television, regularly called upon for expert comment on shows such as Daybreak and This Morning, as well as a panellist on shows such as The Apprentice You’re Fired. She has also fronted the TV show The Great British Hairdresser with James Brown and Abbey Clancy for E4. Recently, Jo presented a series of reports on London and Paris Fashion Weeks for BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours programme. As an advocate of Speakers for Schools, Jo is a regular on the public speaking circuit imparting career advice to school and university students.
